The Fort Airolo Friends Association
In 1991 the Fort Airolo Friends Association was created:
- to safeguard Fort Airolo as a national heritage of fortifying art
- to encourage or promote initiatives aimed at safeguarding the testimonies of the region and the fort
- to collaborate with other institutions pursuing similar aims
- to manage and administer the permanent exhibition of Forte Airolo in close collaboration with the heads of the Federal Department of Defence present on the Airolo army military base
